Network Homes becomes Disability Confident employer

13 August 2020

Network Homes has signed up to be a Disability Confident employer.

The Disability Confident scheme is a Government initiative which supports employers to make the most of the talents disabled people can bring to the workplace.

Joining the scheme allows Network to tap into a huge pool of talent amongst disabled people with being able to recruit and retain and develop people with the skills we need.

Other benefits include:

  • Increasing our own understanding of disability and how to make the most of opportunities provided by employing disabled people.
  • Removing barriers that might be preventing disabled people and those with long term health conditions from accessing employment with us.
  • Being able to play our part in ensuring disabled people have opportunities to fulfil their own potential and realise their own aspirations.

The Disability Confident Scheme is a great initiative, enabling employers to tap into a wealth of largely untapped talent. There is also an opportunity to take what we’ve learnt from the lockdown and realise benefits from our investment in technology by acknowledging that work is something we do not somewhere we go. This puts disabled people on a level playing field and creates exciting development opportunities.
